Day 1

DEPART HOME

Overnight flight to Berlin.

Day 2

BERLIN

Welcome to Berlin! The capital of Germany, one of Europe's most exciting cities. Enjoy a cultural insight experience with fantastic 360° views of the city from the Berlin TV Tower. Marvel at the city's great landmarks during your sightseeing tour with your Local Expert Guide that gives an exciting account of Berlin’s rich and momentous history. Admire the Brandenburg Gate, Unter den Linden Boulevard, the Reichstag Building and German State Opera House. Tonight, discover Berlin's lively nightlife!

Day 3

BERLIN - MUNICH

Depart to Munich. Arrive in the capital of Bavaria. After check-in, your afternoon begins with an orientation tour of this exciting city! See the Olympic Stadium, Ludwigstrasse and Marienplatz, famous for its Glockenspiel clock. This evening, soak up the atmosphere with a stein of beer at Hofbräuhaus, the world's most famous beer hall. Enjoy traditional Bavarian cuisine with music, entertainment and more!

Day 4

MUNICH - NEUSCHWANSTEIN - BREGENZ - LIECHTENSTEIN - BLACK FOREST - FREIBURG (3 NIGHTS)

Depart Munich. Stop at Neuschwanstein to visit King Ludwig's fairy-tale 19th century castle. Pass Bregenz and enter the Principality of Liechtenstein. Stop at its capital Vaduz. Take a scenic drive along Lake Bodensee. Admire the scenery as you drive through the hills and lakes of the Black Forest, famous for cuckoo clocks. Arrive in sunny and cheerful town of Freiburg at the foot of the Black Forest’s wooded slopes and vineyards. Take an evening stroll in Freiburg’s medieval Altstadt, a story-book tableau of gabled town houses, cobblestone lanes and cafe-rimmed plazas.

Day 5

FREIBURG - ZURICH - LUCERNE - INTERLAKEN - BERN - EMMENTAL

In the morning arrive in Zurich, Switzerland's financial centre. See the charm and beauty of this beautiful lakeside city during an orientation. Continue to Lucerne, a beautiful medieval town set against an impressive backdrop of mountains. View the Chapel Bridge and visit the Lion Monument, built in memory of Louis XVI's Swiss Guard, during your orientation tour. Spend free time afterwards exploring the old town, shopping for watches and chocolates. Cross the Brünig Pass on your way to Bern. Travel via Interlaken in the Bernese Oberland, where you see the mighty Jungfrau, subject to weather conditions. Interlaken is one of the oldest and most popular tourist resorts in Switzerland. Later in Berne your orientation will include the Old Town with its cobbled streets and the Federal Parliament Building. Continue through the Emmental region, famed for numerous culinary delights. Sample two of these delicacies. Famous cookies by the Kambly family. For over 100 years the family have produced these cookies. Learn about the production of the famous Emmental cheese. The king of Swiss cheese. Approximately 450 different types of cheese are made in Switzerland, but Emmental is the most famous. This celebrated cheese takes its name from the valley (“Tal”) of the river Emme in the canton of Bern, where production of the cheese can be traced back to the 13th century.

Day 6

FREIBURG - GENEVA - ÉVIAN-LES-BAINES - LAUSANNE - BASEL - MULHOUSE

Drive through the Swiss countryside. Visit CERN in Geneva – famous for the long-sought Higgs boson. See the permanent exhibition “Universe of Particles” for a cultural insight into science. See the Reformation Monument, the Old Town, the United Nations Building and the Red Cross headquarters during your orientation with your Tour Director. Enjoy a lakeside drive via Évian-les-Bains on the southern shores of the lake. Explore the beautiful cities surrounded by the Swiss Alps: Lausanne, the cultural center of Switzerland and Montreux on this relaxing and scenic journey. Take a guided tour of the famous Château de Chillon, a stunning castle that sits on Lake Geneva, immortalised by Lord Byron's ‘Prisoner of Chillon'. Continue to Basel. With its cobbled streets, colourful fountains, medieval churches and stately buildings, the Old Town in Basel is a wonderful place to wander. In Marktplatz check out the impressive rust-coloured Rathaus Town Hall, with frescoed courtyard. Admire the 12th-century Münster, southeast from Marktplatz, with Gothic spires and Romanesque St Gallus doorway. Continue to the dynamic industrial city of Mulhouse, that was allied with nearby Switzerland before voting to join Revolutionary France in 1798. Largely rebuilt after the ravages of WWII.

Day 7

FREIBURG - LUXEMBOURG - RIVER RHINE CRUISE - COLOGNE

Arrive in the Duchy of Luxembourg. Visit General George S. Patton's grave. Your walking tour of Luxembourg with a Local Expert Guide shows you the sights including the breathtaking gorge of the Rivers Alzette and Petrusse, the Cathedral and the Grand Ducal Palace. Cruise along the mighty River Rhine from St. Goar, site of the famous Lorelei Rock named after a mermaid who lured fishermen to their deaths with her mesmerising song, pass the magical castles of Sterrenberg, Liebenstein, Maus, Katz and fortress Rheinfels to Boppard. Continue via famous steep vineyards along the Rhine Valley before arriving in Cologne, Germany's fourth largest city. View the impressive Gothic cathedral during your orientation of the city.

Day 8

COLOGNE - AMSTERDAM

Enjoy an orientation of the historic city centre in Amsterdam. Admire Rembrandt's masterpiece, the ‘The Night Watch', during your tour with a Local Expert Guide of the Rijksmuseum. Visit a historic diamond polishing factory for a cultural insight into the traditions of cutting and preparing diamonds for export. Take a leisurely stroll through this unique city.

Day 9

AMSTERDAM - BRUSSELS

In Brussels your Travel Director shows you the city's highlights, including the Atomium, Royal Palace, Japanese Pagodas and the famous Manneken Pis. Later explore the Grand Place and simply relax in a café and watch the world go by.

Day 10

BRUSSELS - PARIS (2 NIGHTS)

Your Local Expert Guide takes you on a fascinating sightseeing tour of Paris. Visit world-class museum: Louvre. Drive along the Champs Élysées to the Arc de Triomphe. PARIS - VERSAILLES
