Visit Catedral Metropolitana de São Paulo, a reproduction Gothic cathedral that is large enough to inspire the fear of God in mortal sinners. Be wowed by a breathtaking 360º panorama of São Paulo's never ending skyline from the observation deck of Edifício Altino Arantes (Banespão), a 160m (524ft) skyscraper. Inspired by New York’s Empire State Building, it was inaugurated in 1949 and for two decades was the world’s tallest concrete structure. Visit Mosteiro de São Bento - Basílica de Nossa Senhora da Assunção - Basilica of Our Lady of the Assumption, a twin-towered church and monastery that was designed in the early 20th-century and features a large organ with over 6,000 pipes. Visit Mercado Municipal, a vibrant indoor market in baroque-style, a building that was constructed in the early 1930s and is illuminated by some fifty coloured stained-glass windows.

Written by composer Tom Jobim and lyricist and poet Vinicius de Moraes, who were inspired by a local beauty, who walked past the Velosa Bar each day when returning from school. See Lagoa Rodrigo de Freitas - Rodrigo de Freitas Lagoon, a lake which is a huge open space in the middle of Rio de Janeiro, offering fantastic views of the Ipanema skyline, Corcovado and the Christ the Redeemer statue. Just before sunset, arrive at Pão de Açúcar - SugarLoaf Mountain - a conical mountain together with the Corcovado views voted for the visitor's best overall panoramic view. Originally called Pau-nh-Açquá - high, pointed peak - by the Tupi Indians, it was renamed Pão de Açúcar - Sugar Loaf - by the Portuguese, who thought the shape of the 394m (1,293ft) granite rock resembled moulds used to set sugar cane. Admire the most dramatic fine views of the beaches, the city, the mountains of Tijuca National Park and the islands of Guanabara Bay.
Enter Iguassu National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, home to more than 250 spectacular waterfalls surrounded by Atlantic rain forest and to such endangered species as the giant otter and the giant anteater. Explore the Brazilian side of the cascades and take a scenic walk through the rainforest at the base of the falls.
See the world’s largest dam Itaipu Dam on the Paraná River and border of Paraguay and Brazil.
Explore the Argentinian side of the falls. Stop at the Visitors Center and take a scenic walk before boarding the open-air Ecological Jungle Train for a different vantage point on the mighty falls and a spectacular view of the thunderous Devil’s Throat Falls.

Cross the wide Rio de la Plata by hydrofoil this morning. On the Uruguayan side, immerse yourself in the irresistible charm of colonial Colonia del Sacramento. Embark on a guided walking tour that takes you through the UNESCO World Heritage-listed historic district, home to sycamore-shaded streets bordered by graceful colonial mansions, a splendid lighthouse and the oldest church in Uruguay. After a guided tour enjoy some time to stroll around on your own, visiting some of the exclusive art galleries and welcoming shops. Perhaps relax with a cappuccino at a sidewalk cafe. Later this afternoon, board the hydrofoil and cross the river back to Argentina.
