Overview
Why Us
Tour Expert has been designing and running private, small-group journeys across Europe for more than 20 years, as a licensed and EU-registered tour operator. Voytek’s Travelling Van is our signature product line: a private Toyota ProAce Verso Long touring van, never more than 8 guests, built for travellers who want the reach of a coach tour with none of the coach-tour compromises – no 40-seat queues, no fixed seating chart, and a Tour Expert Tour Director who actually knows your name by Day 2.
Built for Travellers From…
North America: A licensed, English-speaking Tour Expert Tour Director leads every mile, so first-time visitors to Scandinavia and repeat Europe travellers alike can settle in without a second thought about logistics, language or navigation.
UK & Ireland: With Copenhagen under three hours from most UK and Irish airports, this is one of the more accessible multi-country European journeys on offer – easily paired with a long weekend either side, or taken as a full escape in its own right.
Australia & New Zealand: Built to make the most of a long-haul flight, this route threads three Nordic countries into a single, unhurried 12 days – timed to the May, June, September and October shoulder season that lines up neatly with the Australian and New Zealand winter escape window.
India: Family and multi-generational groups travel especially well in an 8-guest private van, and vegetarian and Jain dietary requirements are accommodated at every included meal, with Schengen visa guidance provided at booking.
Trip Description
Denmark’s quiet elegance, Norway’s dizzying fjords and Sweden’s island-set capital unfold, in turn, across this 12-day journey from Copenhagen to Stockholm – taken not from a coach window but from a private Toyota ProAce Verso Long touring van shared with no more than seven other guests.
The route runs from Copenhagen’s royal quarter and Hans Christian Andersen’s Odense, across the Skagerrak by ferry into Norway, and up the western fjord coast from Stavanger to Bergen. From there, the celebrated Flam Railway and a crossing of Sognefjord – Norway’s longest and deepest – lead into glacier country and the sculpted drama of Geirangerfjord, before the road turns inland through the stave church at Lom and Olympic Lillehammer to Oslo, and finally east into Sweden and Stockholm’s fourteen islands.
Three nights are spent in hand-picked Authentic Accommodations – independent, family-run hotels in Randers, Leikanger and Geiranger, chosen for character rather than chain-brand convenience – alongside first-class hotels in each capital. A Tour Expert Tour Director travels the full 12 days, joined by Local Expert Guides in Copenhagen, Bergen, Oslo and Stockholm, and by a relief driver on the two longest cross-border legs. This is Scandinavia at the pace a private van allows: close enough to stop for the view that a 40-seat coach would drive past, small enough that dinner conversation includes everyone at the table.
